About Escritor X Creative Writers

Since 2001, Martin Picturesque has implemented the Escritor X-authored Creative Writers After-School Program (CWASP) at Roberto Clemente Middle School, located at 2nd Street and Erie Avenue in North Philadelphia. The program's foundation was the Picturesque-partnered "Clemente News" Club from 1999. In 2001, "Clemente News", the school's public relations newsletter, became one of several Creative Writers Club projects. CWASP ended at Clemente School on June 4, 2004 following the program sponsor's resignation from the School District of Philadelphia. The students' work and projects can still be accessed through this website.
