Hector: Homeless

Cardboard houses,
abandoned cars and buildings
or no cover at all
this is how the homeless live…
they pull or push their belongings
in wagons and carts

many sit on street corners
with cardboard signs,
begging and telling their problems
This is the plight of the homeless

Adults are not the only ones
Living under these conditions
There are homeless children out there, too

A multitude of homeless
Children are out there
Many are out there
Because of fear for themselves

Others are there
Because of problems or situations
They refuse to handle

Whatever the reason…
No child should be without a home.

The plight of the homeless
Does not discriminate:
Males, females, young and old;
No one is immune.

The homeless are invisible people
Invisible because we refuse to see them
What can be done about this plight?
Who is responsible?
