Deanna: Expression

They say words
can’t express how you feel.
They say that you
have to get married
before you have sex.
They say friends
are not forever.

They say your mom
wouldn’t understand you,
and they were right.
They say boys
will take over your mind,
and they were wrong.
They say kids and teens
don’t understand the word “love.”

Now as I get to the end,
what they didn’t say
is everybody should be loved
no matter who he or she,
no matter big or small,
or short or tall.
