Brittany: Just Like Me
By Brittany Langford
September 20, 2002
My life in particular
is not perfect,
and this is what I know.
You may laugh
and cry in my face,
but I’m not like you.
You have unnecessary items
that don’t need to be kept,
but in the other hand,
goals in life that have been swept.
My baby cousins and little kids
look up to me.
They want to be just like me
and soar the sea.
There is another little kid
like you who wants to be me.
Are you mad or are you jealous
because she’s like me and not like you?
Please don’t be
because jealousy is far
from a cherished virtue.
