Who
The Philadelphia Association of Hispanic School Administrators (PAHSA) presents an award in honor of Dr. Eleanor L. Sanstrom, a School District of Philadelphia language expert and pioneer of bilingual education.

What
The Dr. Eleanor L. Sandstrom Bilingual Award recognizes three (3) outstanding students and an exemplary educator in a bilingual program. Students should respond to the essay “I Am Proud to Be Bilingual Because…” The essay should be no more than two typed pages (200 to 500 words). COMING SOON: details on how to nominate a teacher.

When
Student essays and teacher nominations should be forwarded to Ms. Andrea Gonzalez by Monday, May 12, 2003. The winning students and teacher will be recognized and receive an award at the PAHSA gala scheduled for June 7, 2003 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Center City.
