Clemente Tech News – Mid-June 2002

Clemente Tech News | Mid-June 2002 | Volume 1 | Issue 7
Summer-y summary
Students will be gone in just a few short weeks. (Are there ever short weeks??) Teachers will be out days later. And so will begin the summer preparations for September 2002.
Just a few reminders
There will no doubt be some movement as teachers receive new room assignments. Computer equipment—right down to the computer tables—must remain in the room to which they have been assigned. If you feel your situation is special, please contact the computer department for evaluation of your needs before any equipment is moved from one room to another.
Techs will be moving through the third floor first, then the second floor, to tie up cables of your equipment to keep them from getting tangled as equipment is moved around for cleaning of your classrooms. If you are able to do so, please lock up mice and keyboards in a closet or filing cabinet for the summer.
Great new things await you in the coming year. For example, Scholastic will finally be available in classrooms for students to take the Reading Inventory test right in the convenience of their classrooms.
And it’s a wrap!
The computer department has completed its building-wide inventory, and we appreciate your cooperation as we moved from room to room to gather information… done! Many stand-alone computers were placed in rooms and those already in rooms have been configured… done!
Those things said, we hope this period of winding down is pleasant. (Yeah, right!) Have a great summer break and enjoy fun, safe, stress-free vacations!
Tied up, locked down
It’s that time of year, and the computer department is doing all we can to prolong the process of tying up cords and cables for the summer. However, maintenance staff has informed us that they will soon be removing things from classrooms in preparation for the thorough cleanings rooms receive over the summer.
Beginning on the third floor, a computer tech and possibly some student helpers will be coming to classrooms to tie these cables to keep them neat and orderly for easy connecting in September. Computers that have not been locked down to the tables must be secured as well, so techs and/or students may also be cabling your equipment to tables in your room.
Thank you for a great year!
One of the hardest jobs of the computer department is servicing everybody and satisfying all the varying needs as they arise throughout the school year. If you didn’t care, you wouldn’t have worked so hard to make that job somewhat less stressful for your computer department. But you did.
And your computer department greatly appreciates—and applauds—your cooperation in spite of older equipment sitting around in your classrooms, the task of finding those complaint forms, and running out of ink in the middle of printing grades.
So thanks for a really great year, enjoy your summer, and we look forward to an equally great new school year starting in September!
