Setting mouse traps?

At the start of the new school year, the Tech Assistant made a thorough inventory of missing and broken mouse and mouse balls in all classrooms. Damaged and/or missing items were replaced to give staff and students a fresh go at it for the new year. Any mice or mouse balls missing since this early replacement are pending until we receive new mice and mouse balls currently on order.

If you have not already done so, simply drop us a note on the “Computer Help/Request Form.” If you have already done this, your room is already on the list to be taken care of as soon as the replacements are available.

More and more computers

As announced earlier in the school year, the Technology Department has some PowerPC’s available for use as stand-alone computers in classrooms. Several teachers have submitted requests for these computers to be placed in their classrooms. However, due to destruction of computers mice, there are no mice to accompany the computers available. Teachers who have submitted requests for these computers will receive them as additional computer mice arrive.

In addition, we are pleased to announce that we have at last reached our goal of accommodating every classroom with at least one iMac or eMac computer. Those rooms that do not yet have one of these newer computers will be supplied as soon as printers are available that will work with them.

Some rooms already have a newer computer, but do not have a printer (called a USB printer) connected to it. We are aware of this, and are working to provide USB printers for these computers. If you have not already done so, please submit a “Computer Help/Request Form” as a reminder to us. We will add your room to the list of rooms to be outfitted with new printers when our orders arrive.

Teachers: E-mail hotline!

All teachers should have an up-to-date School District e-mail account. If you do not, you must contact the E-mail Hotline at 215-875-3200. Use this hotline to activate a new e-mail account with the School District or to retrieve a lost or forgotten password. Stay on the lookout for announcements about e-mail classes to help you set up your account on your computer at work or at home.
